About the position

The Business Operations and Strategy Consultant at Motorola Solutions plays a crucial role in enhancing business performance within the Services organization, which is pivotal for delivering technology support services such as network monitoring, security monitoring, technical support, and field services. This position is designed for a candidate who can effectively tackle business challenges by identifying necessary information, collaborating across various functions, and developing actionable recommendations. The consultant will engage in high-level analysis and strategic guidance to support executive leadership, ensuring that the Services business continues to be a key growth area for the company. In this role, the consultant will be responsible for translating complex business problems into specific, data-driven questions that can be addressed through thorough analysis. This involves validating data with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and reliability. The consultant will also develop forecasting models that leverage key business drivers to enhance regional sales forecasting and operational execution. Additionally, the consultant will create and analyze business cases for new service opportunities, which includes market sizing, investment requirements, pricing strategies, and expected financial returns. The position requires the consultant to assist in preparing and analyzing materials for various management meetings, including those with customers, partners, and executive leadership. This role is characterized by a collaborative environment where strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively are essential. The consultant will frequently present findings and recommendations to executive management, making it imperative to possess advanced presentation skills and the ability to think critically about quantitative problems.

Responsibilities

  • Translate high-level business problems into specific questions for data-driven analysis.
  • Develop forecasting models based on key business drivers to improve sales forecasting and operational execution.
  • Create and analyze business cases for new service opportunities, including market sizing and financial returns.
  • Assist in preparation and analysis for internal and external management meetings, including executive briefings.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with corporate strategy, offer management, and regional teams.

Requirements

  • BBA Degree or MBA from a top-tier university required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience with revenue/cost analysis, market sizing, operational strategy formulation, or financial modeling.
  • 1-3 years of consulting experience, preferably in strategy & operations or performance improvement consulting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in highly analytical settings requiring quantitative analytics.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills.
  • Advanced presentation skills using PowerPoint or Google Slides.
  • Ability to think critically about quantitative analytical problems.
