The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Business & Operations Coordinator for the South Asia region to support the U.S.-India Business Council and the U.S.-Bangladesh Business Council. This role is pivotal in enhancing the programming, research, and member company engagement within these councils. The coordinator will work closely with the president of the team, gaining insights into the key issues that U.S. businesses face in South Asia. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with various stakeholders, including companies, regional government officials in Washington, D.C., and abroad, as well as Chamber colleagues. In this role, the coordinator will be responsible for managing communications directed to the president, ensuring that inquiries are appropriately delegated to directors and managers. The coordinator will also organize and maintain the president's calendar and event schedule, draft and execute contracts, and facilitate the smooth functioning of the South Asia team. Sound judgment is essential, as the coordinator will act as the gatekeeper of the president's time and priorities. Additionally, the coordinator will conduct research and analyze developments in India's economic policy, preparing background briefs, sector updates, press releases, and official correspondence. Tracking relevant U.S. and Indian legislation, calls for comments, and position papers of interest to member companies will also be part of the responsibilities. The coordinator will have the opportunity to invite senior dignitaries to functions in both India and the U.S. that promote U.S.-India commercial ties.
