About the position

The Business Operations Coordinator at the American Red Cross plays a vital role in supporting the organization's operational and administrative functions. This position involves managing financial transactions, vendor relationships, and facilities management while ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures. The coordinator will also provide training and support for software applications and assist in leading volunteers, contributing to the overall mission of the Red Cross to help those in need.

Responsibilities

  • Perform budget monitoring and handle daily finance transactions.
  • Manage local vendor relationships and facilities management.
  • Lead system user/trainer for software business applications.
  • Provide operations backup support and guidance to volunteers.
  • Analyze monthly forecasting of expenses and ensure programs are executed within budget.
  • Coordinate and train volunteers for daily transactional work.
  • Maintain fleet inventory records and manage insurance claims.
  • Develop and distribute a regional Standard Operating Procedures Manual.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or Public Administration preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of financial or facilities administrative support experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in community organizations, government agencies, or non-profit organizations.
  • Management experience is a plus.
