About the position

The Business Operations Coordinator at the University of California, Riverside plays a crucial role in supporting the daily business and administrative operations of the Recreation department. This position involves managing procurement, travel, and financial needs while ensuring compliance with university policies. The coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for various inquiries and is responsible for processing a high volume of requisitions and financial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main transactor for the Recreation department, focusing on procurement, travel, and financial needs.
  • Execute travel and purchasing procedures according to University, Organizational, and Departmental rules and regulations.
  • Process travel, purchasing, and accounts payable, including purchase and work orders, vendor payments, and employee reimbursements.
  • Handle travel pre-trip arrangements and/or advances.
  • Process a large volume of requisitions for materials, athletic supplies, furniture, and equipment.
  • Assist with department accounting functions, including fiscal closing.

Requirements

  • Experience in business operations or administrative support in a high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of procurement and travel procedures in a university setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
