About the position

Larimer County's Solid Waste Department is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Business Operations Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will provide diverse, advanced, and confidential administrative support and operational analysis to enhance the effectiveness of our department, division, or program(s). The position is designed for individuals who are proactive and capable of managing multiple tasks while ensuring high-quality service delivery. The typical schedule for this position is from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with no weekends, and it is an in-office role. As a Business Operations Coordinator, you will oversee and ensure that the administrative functions of the organizational unit or program(s) to which you are assigned are carried out efficiently. You will provide administrative support to the Education Center known as the "Garbage Garage," establishing and maintaining systems, processes, and policies that monitor and evaluate functions. Your role will also involve identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining various methodologies and processes to ensure a high-quality working environment at all times. Additionally, you will conduct special research projects, which include gathering, compiling, and analyzing information. You will be responsible for providing alternatives and making recommendations on courses of action to the Director of the department. Preparing complex reports, manuals, bid proposals, requests for proposals, and other documents for special projects, programs, and research will also be part of your responsibilities, along with giving presentations on your findings. This position is crucial for the operational success of the department, and we are looking for a candidate who can provide high-quality administrative support and professional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and ensures that the administrative functions of the organizational unit or program(s) are carried out.
  • Provides administrative support to the Education Center 'Garbage Garage.'
  • Establishes and maintains systems, processes, and policies; monitors and evaluates functions; develops and implements policy.
  • Identifies, develops, implements, and maintains various methodologies and processes to keep a high-quality working environment.
  • Conducts special research projects, including gathering, compiling, and analyzing information; provides alternatives and makes recommendations to the Director.
  • Prepares complex reports, manuals, bid proposals, requests for proposals, and other documents for special projects, programs, and research; gives presentations on findings.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Proficient in general office practices and procedures.
  • Experience with routine software and business applications including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and comprehend department and County rules, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
  • Demonstrates regular, predictable attendance.
