About the position

The Business Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the day-to-day activities of the Department of Radiologic Sciences at Boise State University. This position is responsible for ensuring that the department operates efficiently and meets the expectations and needs of both customers and staff. The coordinator assists with various management and administrative aspects, maintaining operational control over a range of projects. This includes working on assignments related to project development, management initiatives, internal operating procedures, and business processes and policies. The Department of Radiologic Sciences employs a diverse team of faculty and staff, including 8 full-time faculty members, 45 adjunct faculty, and 35 affiliates. The educational experience provided by the department promotes health advocacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and lifelong learning, preparing students for successful careers in healthcare. The department offers several bachelor-level degree programs, including diagnostic radiology, diagnostic medical sonography, magnetic resonance imaging, and computed tomography, as well as online associate to bachelor degree completion programs. The department is committed to being a valuable educational resource for students, supported by strong partnerships with clinical affiliates and a dedicated faculty and staff. In this entry-level position, the Business Operations Coordinator will learn to apply professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision. The role involves a significant focus on self-development and requires theoretical knowledge gained through specific education and training. The coordinator will be responsible for various processes and will serve as a liaison with other units, including Human Resources and research support, while directing customer service and support functions. Additionally, the coordinator will assist in recruiting new employees, managing quality assurance programs, and training and supervising new staff members. The coordinator will also conduct student pre-placement planning conferences for clinical experiences, secure new clinical experience sites, and maintain a clinical affiliate database. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and the capacity to work collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure a positive and effective educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities to ensure departmental efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with management and administrative tasks related to project development and operational control.
  • Serve as a liaison with Human Resources, research support, and financial units.
  • Direct customer service and support functions within the department.
  • Lead efforts to recruit and retain qualified employees.
  • Manage quality assurance programs and track staff performance.
  • Conduct student pre-placement planning conferences for clinical experiences.
  • Secure new clinical experience sites and maintain a clinical affiliate database.
  • Assist with the coordination of clinical experiences and monitor student placements.
  • Create and update clinical forms and manuals, and communicate with program directors regarding student progress.
