The Business Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the day-to-day activities of the Department of Radiologic Sciences at Boise State University. This position is responsible for ensuring that the department operates efficiently and meets the expectations and needs of both customers and staff. The coordinator assists with various management and administrative aspects, maintaining operational control over a range of projects. This includes working on assignments related to project development, management initiatives, internal operating procedures, and business processes and policies. The Department of Radiologic Sciences employs a diverse team of faculty and staff, including 8 full-time faculty members, 45 adjunct faculty, and 35 affiliates. The department offers several bachelor-level degree programs, including diagnostic radiology, diagnostic medical sonography, magnetic resonance imaging, and computed tomography, as well as online associate to bachelor degree completion programs. In this entry-level position, the Business Operations Coordinator will learn to apply professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision. The role involves a significant focus on self-development and requires theoretical knowledge gained through specific education and training. The coordinator will be responsible for various processes and will serve as a liaison with other units, including Human Resources and research support, while directing customer service and support functions. Additionally, the coordinator will assist in recruiting new employees, managing quality assurance programs, and training and supervising new staff members. The coordinator will also conduct student pre-placement planning conferences for clinical experiences, secure new clinical experience sites, and maintain a clinical affiliate database. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and the capacity to work collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure a positive and effective educational environment.
