About the position

The Business Operations Coordinator at the American Red Cross plays a vital role in supporting the organization's operational and administrative functions. This position involves managing financial transactions, vendor relationships, and facilities management while ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures. The coordinator will also provide training and support for software applications and assist in leading volunteers, contributing to the overall mission of the Red Cross to help those in need.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative budget support including expense coding and financial report dissemination.
  • Analyze monthly forecasting of expenses and monitor regional procurement transactions.
  • Establish processes for cash and card transactions and ensure programs are executed within budget.
  • Lead system user training for Business Applications and IT Services, troubleshooting issues for the region.
  • Support facilities and asset management, ensuring repairs are completed within budget and managing vendor activities.
  • Maintain fleet inventory records and manage insurance claims and repairs.
  • Provide guidance and data for grant reports and respond to internal/external information requests.
  • Develop and maintain a regional Standard Operating Procedures Manual.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Business or Public Administration preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of financial or facilities administrative support experience in community organizations, government agencies, or non-profits.
  • Ability to work on a team and plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for maintaining collaborative relationships.
  • Proficient in MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
