About the position

The Business Operations Data Analyst (Python) position at Solstice Consulting Group is a hybrid role based in Houston, Texas, focused on leveraging analytics and project management skills to drive process improvements and automation within the Global Manufacturing business unit. The role requires expert-level Python skills and extensive experience in business data analysis, particularly in the oil and gas sector.

Responsibilities

• Understand system relationships for the Manufacturing and related processes, utilizing Python for data extraction and manipulation.
• Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, identifying improvement areas, and utilizing Python for data analysis and process optimization.
• Assist in developing and implementing systems solutions for process improvements and automation within the Operations group.
• Assist and document change requirements for future process improvements.
• Report on ongoing business issues relating to processes/systems, leveraging Python for data-driven insights and reporting.
• Assist management to provide strategic direction and develop, implement, and monitor goals, objectives, priorities, and procedures relating to the organization, using Python for data-driven decision-making.
• Understand the business unit strategy and work toward continuous business process improvements based on immediate and future business needs, utilizing Python for data analysis and process innovation.
• Apply process innovation to overcome organizational problems and drive efficiency.
• Complete set tasks within the Operations group's work areas, leveraging Python for data analysis and process optimization.
• Assist with design and reports with metrics used to demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness, identifying roadblocks, and assessing impact to project plans, using Python for data analysis and reporting.
• Participate and perform training as required.
• Other duties or special projects as assigned by management and leadership within the operations group.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in data analysis, data science or related role; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
• 8+ years in complex Business Data Analysis required.
• 5+ years of PYTHON experience of Data Analysis required (EXPERT LEVEL REQUIRED).
• 5+ years experience in business process optimization in consulting or corporate project management and analysis required.
• Advanced experience with relational databases (SQL, ETL).
• Advanced MS Office skills required.
• Knowledge of oil and gas operations and manufacturing preferred.
• Excellent communications and presentational skills.

Benefits

• Base salary of $110k - $145k DOE plus 10% bonus and excellent benefits.
