Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a highly skilled US Customs Drawback Manager to lead and manage our customs drawback operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and optimizing the recovery of duty refunds. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in customs regulations and drawback processes, overseeing the full cycle of customs drawback processes from application to recovery. As part of the job family, the manager will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating drawback business processes, partnering with stakeholders to identify and implement opportunities for business process improvement. This position requires leading and working with cross-functional teams to create and implement plans that enable the execution of drawback strategies. The US Customs Drawback Manager will apply expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving complex business and technical issues within established policies. This role involves managing activities of exempt individual contributors and has accountability for a large multi-department area significantly impacting business unit results and organizational strategy. The manager will act as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization, planning, managing, and monitoring high-end operational and tactical activities of staff members. The position typically reports to the Director or above. In this role, the manager will be accountable for the US Drawback Operation, ensuring financial commitments and compliance requirements are met. Responsibilities include managing a team of senior-level exempt individual contributors, hiring, setting, and monitoring annual performance plans, coaching, and career development. The manager will consult with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope, create new operational efficiencies, and oversee the development and delivery of complex initiatives impacting the global supply chain. Compliance assurance is critical, ensuring all drawback claims comply with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and internal policies. The manager will also participate in the comprehensive review of drawback claims, lead and mentor the team of drawback specialists, implement best practices, coordinate audit preparations, conduct training sessions, and generate regular reports on drawback activities, recovery rates, and compliance statuses.
