About the position

The Business Operations Manager at UTMB Health is responsible for assisting the Department Administrator and Assistant Administrator in managing departmental operations. This role focuses on optimizing workflows, enhancing patient care revenue, and managing grants related to Regional Women's Services and Pediatrics. The position involves supervising staff, supporting clinical reporting, and contributing to budget development and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Department Administrator and Assistant Administrator in overall departmental management.
• Coordinate and manage various departmental activities with a focus on staff coordination and policy development.
• Optimize encounter workflows to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement, reducing denials and write-offs.
• Manage RWSP grants, including consent form review and compliance with spending authority.
• Produce financial and clinical reports, including volume and productivity reports.
• Assist in developing the Net Patient Care Revenue budget and forecast planning.
• Reconcile clinical FTE to provider schedules and ensure compliance.
• Work with clinic managers and providers to enhance patient access and productivity.
• Supervise staff overseeing provider enrollment, credentialing, and clinical reporting functions.
• Manage EPIC work queues and monitor access measures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Five years of related experience in medical office management or operations.
• Experience in inpatient and outpatient medical coding, preferably in OB/Gyn.
• Proficiency in using EPIC for clinical management and reporting.

Nice-to-haves

• Medical Practice/Medical Office Management experience
• Knowledge of Revenue Cycle Charge Capture
• Familiarity with coding guidelines and CPT coding
