About the position

The AWS Brand Advertising & Social team is seeking a Business Operations Manager to oversee vendor management, budgeting processes, and the rhythm of business needs. This role is pivotal in bridging data, analysis, and strategy to enable our teams to execute effective mass advertising campaigns that enhance the AWS brand's visibility. As the Business Operations Manager, you will be responsible for financial planning, forecasting, and managing data analytics projects from inception to completion. You will also handle the contracting and onboarding of all vendors, including advertising and social creative agencies, while collaborating with tax, legal, finance, and operations teams to meet business objectives and communicate insights to key stakeholders. In this position, you will establish and maintain a rhythm of business that encompasses weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, operational planning cycles, and 2x2s. You will lead all tasks related to advertising vendor management and onboarding, manage budgeting tasks in AMPS, including forecasting, creating and maintaining sub-budgets, and overseeing internal transfers for social boosting from stakeholder teams. Additionally, you will partner with Finance to validate data and provide insights for the monthly finance review, support the tracking of contracts, work orders, purchase orders, invoicing, and internal transfers, and conduct trend analysis to identify relationships and opportunities while providing recommended corrective actions. Your role will also involve developing programs, methodologies, and reports for data analysis and performing complex data analysis across multiple systems to support both scheduled and ad-hoc reporting requests.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and own a rhythm of the business that includes weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, 2x2s, operational planning cycles.
  • Lead all advertising vendor management and onboarding tasks.
  • Manage budgeting tasks in AMPS including forecasting, creating and maintaining sub-budgets, budget lines, and managing internal transfers for social boosting from stakeholder teams.
  • Partner with Finance to validate data and provide insights for the monthly finance review.
  • Support tracking of contracts/work orders, purchase orders, invoicing, and internal transfers.
  • Conduct trend analysis to identify relationships, opportunities, highlight strengths, and provide recommended corrective actions; incorporate data visualization of statistical analyses.
  • Develop programs, methodologies, and reports for analyzing and presenting data.
  • Perform complex data analysis across multiple systems to support both scheduled and ad-hoc reporting requests.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • 5+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of driving end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 5+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules.
