About the position

The Dental Faculty Practice Business Operations Manager (BOM) at UMKC School of Dentistry is responsible for the independent management of a financially viable dental practice. This role involves ensuring operational excellence, financial coordination, and effective patient care while fostering a collaborative environment within the team.

Responsibilities

• Model the culture, values, standards, and best practices of the School of Dentistry and UMKC.
• Assess, hire, and retain team members through training, supervision, and performance appraisals.
• Investigate and resolve staff and patient issues with effective solutions.
• Drive positive revenue and manage expenses to meet budget goals.
• Ensure an excellent patient experience through personalized care.
• Audit accounts for accuracy on a daily and weekly basis.
• Set and monitor weekly and monthly goals for staff performance.
• Assist with month-end processes and generate necessary financial reports.
• Reconcile deposits and ensure accurate processing of payments.
• Act as the Lending Club coordinator for patient enrollment and fund requests.
• Initiate patient refunds and oversee records release for accuracy.
• Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.
• Review collections and approve accounts for collection agency referral.
• Manage relationships with insurance billing partners and oversee credentialing for providers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in business operations or management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a Dental Service Organization or similar dental practice.
• Previous supervisory experience.
