About the position

The Business Operations Manager for Health Plans and Programs at Progyny is responsible for leading initiatives that enhance operational efficiency within the organization. This role involves collaborating with various functional and leadership teams to design and implement scalable solutions that improve member experiences and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The manager will also analyze operational performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-functional teams to develop business requirements that inform business decisions and operational recommendations.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to design and evolve the operational playbook, optimizing member experience and complementing automated functions.
  • Ensure product and service compliance with regulatory requirements in collaboration with Compliance teams.
  • Act on insights from regulatory updates, policy changes, and product performance to support strategic decisions.
  • Partner with Product leadership to inform product strategy, roadmap, and integration opportunities.
  • Build systems to collect data for trend identification, process development, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Tech to create dashboards and reporting for monitoring team performance and KPIs.
  • Analyze operational performance of projects post-execution.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of operations experience, with at least 5 years in the healthcare industry, preferably in insurance or employer health benefits.
  • Experience with health plans and an understanding of the commercial health insurance marketplace.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, public health, or healthcare administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement operational and technical processes to meet business requirements, including experience with BPMN and/or UPM process modeling.
  • Adaptive, curious, and inquisitive problem solver who enjoys synthesizing complex problems.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, able to manage multiple projects while prioritizing effectively.
  • Proven ability to inspire a team and develop leaders while maintaining high performance standards.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage with both operational teams and executive leadership.
  • Comfortable with tools and technology, with strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data analysis and performance metrics development.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
