About the position

The Business Operations Manager at TRC will play a pivotal role in supporting the rapid expansion of the Intelligent Grid Solutions business unit. This position requires a blend of financial acumen, operational management, and strategic planning to ensure the success of the business as it scales. The manager will work closely with various teams to streamline operations, manage budgets, and support strategic initiatives, all while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze operational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Practice Leads, Resource Leads, and the Project Management Organization (PMO) to streamline workflows and implement operational best practices.
  • Drive the annual budgeting process and work closely with P&L Leads to develop accurate and realistic financial plans.
  • Monitor budget performance during the year, identify variances, and provide insights to senior management.
  • Support strategic planning and decision-making related to growth investments, pipeline management, and pricing.
  • Manage and organize knowledge management systems (Teams, SharePoint, etc.), creating workflows to keep them current.
  • Support commercial due diligence efforts, including financial case development, and oversee project management of integration activities.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in investing, consulting, or operational planning and support
  • Ability to work standard hours during Central or Eastern time

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical expertise with Microsoft suite: SharePoint, Teams, Power BI
  • Previous experience managing direct reports
  • Previous experience with M&A
