About the position

The Business Operations Manager at Herc Rentals is responsible for overseeing the development of business requirements for system-related enhancements, leading user acceptance testing, and providing operational support. This role involves coordinating with IT and operations teams to ensure efficient testing activities and maintaining high standards for system operations. The manager will also aid in change management, develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and collaborate closely with the training organization during rollout efforts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of business requirements for system-related enhancements.
• Lead operations user acceptance testing of system enhancements.
• Provide operational support, including change management and training.
• Coordinate efforts with IT and operations testing teams to ensure efficient testing activities.
• Act as the Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Project Evolution related testing.
• Own the development of business requirements and liaise with IT/project teams.
• Participate in the development of technical requirements with the IT team.
• Lead the planning, design, execution, and reporting of tests for system enhancements.
• Conduct data validation before test execution.
• Manage raised defects to ensure timely resolution.
• Collaborate with development teams, project managers, and business analysts.
• Define priorities for support issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate change management efforts with operations PMO.
• Aid in the maintenance of SOPs and work with the training team on rollout support.
• Manage dependency work related to projects impacting operations.
• Maintain operations data to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance/Economics/Accounting or technology.
• 5+ years of experience in an analyst or supervisor role.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Oracle ERP and RentalMan is highly desirable.
• Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or relevant testing certifications are a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in test operations, including environment setup, test execution, and defect management.
• Experience with high-pressure system design and handling JIRA and TestRail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
