Partnership Schools is seeking a highly motivated and organized Business & Operations Manager (BOM) who is passionate about education reform and ready to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. As a pioneering school management organization (SMO), Partnership Schools is dedicated to shaping the future of urban Catholic education. The BOM will play a crucial role in managing the operational aspects of seven long-standing Pre-K to 8th grade schools located in the South Bronx and Harlem. The BOM will be instrumental in ensuring that the operational systems are in place to support the principal and teachers, allowing them to focus on teaching and learning. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and strategic problem solver, capable of leading the school's operational initiatives. This role involves managing compliance with various operational and administrative mandates, ensuring the accurate collection and maintenance of student data, and analyzing metrics to identify areas for further development. The BOM will also foster a safe and welcoming environment, oversee financial management, and lead enrollment efforts to meet annual goals. Strong communication skills are essential for managing parent communications and working respectfully with families regarding tuition matters.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the school's operational leader and thought partner to the Principal.
  • Manage all operational and administrative compliance mandates and protocols relating to Partnership, Archdiocesan, City, and State regulations & systems within the school community.
  • Ensure accurate collection and maintenance of student data and school metrics, analyzing data to identify needs for further operational systems development and management.
  • Foster a safe, warm, and friendly environment within the school.
  • Ensure that all safety and security protocols are in place and being followed, including mandated drills, safety inspections, and health regulations.
  • Manage finance operations including budgeting, bookkeeping, checks payable, accounting, purchasing, payroll, and vendor management.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the school building.
  • Manage school-based IT systems in conjunction with technology support vendors.
  • Lead the team to reach annual new student and re-enrollment goals.
  • Manage enrollment systems to accurately track inquiries, student applications, attrition data, and waitlists.
  • Oversee recruitment and community outreach efforts.
  • Ensure all parent communications are centralized, coordinated, and clear.
  • Work with families respectfully around tuition collection and delinquencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience and familiarity with Excel and Google platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through with results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in customer service.
  • Attentive to detail paired with strategic skills.
  • Quick learner and responsive to feedback.

Nice-to-haves

  • Spanish proficiency preferred.
