About the position

The Business Operations Manager at Regency Care of Arlington is responsible for leading and directing the financial operations of the facility. This role ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory requirements while achieving the facility's financial goals. The manager will oversee billing, collections, accounts payable, and other business transactions, while also maintaining positive relationships with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements processes and systems in the Business Office to manage billing, collections (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), and other business transactions.
  • Ensures Business Office procedures comply with regulatory requirements related to bed-hold notice requirements.
  • Produces monthly facility income statement and prepares financial records for submission to government agencies.
  • Maintains schedules for capital expenses and fixed asset depreciation.
  • Reviews and interprets monthly financial statements and provides relevant information to the Administrator.
  • Ensures timely completion of monthly billing and adherence to facility policy checks and balances.
  • Develops and monitors accounts receivables and reports delinquent accounts to the Administrator.
  • Maintains knowledge of state long term care Medicaid and Medicare insurance programs.
  • Coordinates pre-admission financial evaluations with the Admissions office.
  • Participates in financial meetings with department heads to monitor budget compliance.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with residents, employees, and family members.
  • Supervises all Business Office Personnel and their work functions.
  • Participates in QAPI monthly and performance improvement committee duties.
  • Identifies opportunities for enhanced financial services and resolves issues with the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a billing or supervisory role in a healthcare facility.
  • Knowledgeable of skilled nursing home regulations and guidelines.
