About the position

The Business Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the Business Operations department, which includes new patient coordination, scheduling, service line coordinators, and prior authorization. This position is essential for ensuring that patients receive timely care and have a positive experience. The manager provides leadership, support, and development for their teams, ensuring compliance with regulations and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership for new patient coordinators, service line coordinators, prior authorization, and scheduling.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with direct reports to provide feedback, coaching, and professional development.
  • Ensure the team has the necessary tools, knowledge, and work environment to succeed.
  • Support direct reports in their supervisory and front-line capacities.
  • Interview, hire, and train an effective workforce in alignment with OSG cultural norms.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of the teams to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Design and support workflows to enhance service delivery to patients, clinicians, and peers.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain office policies and procedures related to operational workflows.
  • Troubleshoot patient complaints and develop process improvements to prevent recurrences.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, labor laws, and other regulations.
  • Develop KPIs for teams and work towards creating efficient, patient-first outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Social Work, Nursing, or equivalent.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Experience with administrative processes such as prior authorization, scheduling, and patient care coordination.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across various business and clinical teams.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with proficiency in Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare business setting.
  • Master's degree in Health Science, Social Work, or equivalent preferred.
