The Orleans County NRCD (OCNRCD) is seeking a part-time Business Operations Manager to support its mission of protecting and enhancing the waters of Orleans County through effective business management. Established in 1947, OCNRCD has evolved to conserve all natural resources, focusing on voluntary conservation efforts with local farmers and landowners. The Business Operations Manager will play a crucial role in assisting the Board of Supervisors and District Manager in delivering internal business management needs, thereby enabling staff to effectively implement soil and water conservation practices. This position is designed to strengthen the organization as it scales up its staffing capacity, ensuring that the OCNRCD can meet its strategic goals and continue to serve the community effectively. The ideal candidate will be an organized and positive professional with strong communication skills and experience in financial management and administration. This internally focused role will involve providing operational and administrative support to staff, leading financial operations, ensuring compliance with open meeting laws, and working on special projects that enhance the organization's efficiency and effectiveness. The candidate should have a passion for stewardship of natural resources and a connection to the local community, contributing to the diversity and excellence of the institution. In this role, the Business Operations Manager will conduct financial analysis, manage QuickBooks online practices, provide clerical human resources support, maintain organizational policies, oversee grant management software, and assist with special projects aimed at improving workflow systems and securing additional grant funds.
