The Business Operations Manager at Texas A&M University - Kingsville plays a crucial role in overseeing the business operations for various departments, offices, divisions, or agencies within the institution. As a project manager for the Business Operations Team, the manager will develop and oversee progress against high-level work plans, schedules, and budgets for large projects, ensuring that all objectives are met in a timely manner. The manager will act as the main liaison to external parties for the assigned departments, facilitating communication and collaboration. They will also review and negotiate contracts, ensuring that the terms are favorable and align with the institution's goals. Additionally, the Business Operations Manager will assist in the development and implementation of strategic goals for the departments they oversee. Regularly, the manager will create and run reports, analyze data, compile key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare presentations to share findings with stakeholders. They will work closely with vendors and internal team members to create and improve revenue-generating programs while identifying continuous improvement opportunities. This position is vital for ensuring that the business operations align with the university's mission and objectives, contributing to the overall success of the institution.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees operations related to assigned departments, offices, divisions, or agencies.

  • Assists in the development and implementation of goals for assigned departments.
  • Routinely creates and runs reports, analyzes data, compiles KPIs and prepares presentation to share findings.
  • Works closely with vendors and internal team members to create and improve revenue generating programs and to identify continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
