About the position

The Business Operations Manager at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln plays a crucial role in the strategic operational management of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) Business Centers. This position involves contributing to the management team, overseeing budgeting, finance, human resources, and ensuring consistent practices across business centers. The role emphasizes effective resource management and solution development while fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the Business Center Management Team, contributing to strategic vision and planning.
• Oversee the overall strategic operational management of assigned IANR business centers.
• Manage budgeting, finance, human resources, payroll, and pre- and post-award administration.
• Make decisions affecting all IANR Business Centers.
• Implement new or revised processes based on knowledge of UNL and IANR operations.
• Work with Business Center Managers to ensure consistent practices and processes across the business center structure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or closely related field.
• Five years of experience in a senior leadership position, including supervisory and fiscal management experience.
• Strong business management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience in building and leading strong teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, planning, and communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting, human resources, and business management practices.
