The Business Operations Manager provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Dean's Office and departments within the College of Education, Health and Human Development (EHHD): Education, Human Development & Community Health, Counseling, and Food Systems, Nutrition & Kinesiology. This role is crucial in assisting and managing grants for Principal Investigators within the college. As part of the EHHD BOM Team, the Business Operations Manager reports directly to the EHHD Senior Assistant Dean and plays a vital role in the administrative and fiscal operations of the Dean's Office, supporting students, faculty, and staff in achieving the educational and research mission of the College. The responsibilities of this position include fiscal coordination and budget management for departmental and grant funds, which involves monitoring expenditures, managing compensation and workload data, coordinating payroll reconciliation, performing analyses, providing budget projections, and reallocating resources as necessary. The Business Operations Manager is expected to exhibit service excellence to students, faculty, and staff, and to take the lead or contribute to various projects as appropriate. This position also serves as the first point of contact for departmental inquiries regarding BOM operations, ensuring effective communication and support across the college. In addition to fiscal responsibilities, the Business Operations Manager acts as a liaison for human resources, handling hiring and payroll issues, processing appointments for faculty and students, and coordinating recruitment and selection processes. The role also includes post-award grant support, where the manager reconciles budget expenditures, monitors payroll and benefits, and assists Principal Investigators with grant management tasks. Overall, this position is integral to the smooth operation of the College of Education, Health and Human Development, ensuring that all administrative and fiscal functions are carried out efficiently and effectively.
