About the position

The Business Operations Manager at Stand Strong Fencing is responsible for directing and managing the organization's operations, developing and implementing effective operational strategies, and overseeing installation crews. This role requires a focus on generating new business opportunities, maintaining quality control, and ensuring a world-class customer experience. The successful candidate will work closely with the owners to align operational activities with the company's long-term goals.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally represent Stand Strong Fencing and engage in community involvement and network building.
  • Develop expertise in product knowledge, technical knowledge, industry, and process knowledge in relevant product areas.
  • Study and learn current marketplace, competitors, and industry trends to identify new business and marketing opportunities.
  • Oversee daily operations including material procurement, subcontractor procurement, installations, production, and administrative tasks.
  • Manage the job pipeline and respective project workflows, scheduling production with customers and install crews.
  • Coordinate material orders and procurement, ensuring project install and quality control standards are upheld.
  • Ensure fence layouts meet customer specifications and are effectively communicated to the install crew.
  • Work with install team leaders to understand and analyze client requirements.
  • Maintain and manage inventory levels and evaluate performance of subcontractor installation crews.
  • Interact with customers and co-workers in a professional manner, addressing client queries promptly.
  • Perform basic record keeping and data entry to track sales and client needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience in a management or leadership role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong knowledge of business operational functions and existing subcontractor installation crew relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to mentor a diverse group of people.

Nice-to-haves

  • Home service experience is a plus.
  • Experience with MS Office and CRM software.
