The Business Operations & Planning Analyst Intern will work within the manufacturing engineering organization at GlobalFoundries Malta. The Business Operations team is responsible for both short-term and long-term material and financial planning and forecasting, cost program management, cost benchmarking, capital expense planning, efficiency improvements, and spend analytics. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and good business acumen, along with technical skills and the ability to lead improvement projects. They will thrive in a diverse manufacturing environment and collaborate effectively with engineers, managers, technicians, and site leadership. Interns will engage in material and financial forecasting and planning, preparing monthly materials and maintenance forecasts, and managing material forecasts and supply in collaboration with procurement and supply chain teams. They will also be involved in cost program management, acting as project managers for engineering modules to drive the achievement of fab cost goals, and implementing lean manufacturing practices to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Additionally, interns will communicate with suppliers and vendors, manage purchase requests, and coordinate capital equipment purchasing projects, all while adhering to environmental, health, safety, and security requirements.
