The Business Operations Engineer internship position at GlobalFoundries Malta is situated within a manufacturing engineering organization. The Business Operations team is responsible for both short-term and long-term material and financial planning and forecasting, cost program management, cost benchmarking, capital expense planning, efficiency improvements, and spend analytics. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and good business acumen, along with technical skills and a willingness to lead improvement projects in a diverse manufacturing environment. The role requires collaboration with engineers, managers, technicians, and site leadership, emphasizing teamwork and communication. Interns will engage in material and financial forecasting and planning, which includes preparing monthly materials and maintenance forecasts and managing material supply from operations in coordination with procurement and supply chain. They will also be involved in cost program management, acting as project managers for engineering modules to drive the achievement of fab cost goals, and implementing lean manufacturing practices to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Additionally, interns will ensure supply continuity by communicating with suppliers and managing purchase requests to support equipment performance commitments. The role also involves capital process management, coordinating with various stakeholders to handle capital equipment purchasing projects effectively. All activities must be performed in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to environmental, health, safety, and security requirements.
