About the position

The Business Operations, Senior Analyst will be engaged in a broad range of business operation activities in support of project development and construction activities throughout ENGIE North America's (ENA) portfolio of Grid Scale Renewables, which includes utility-scale wind, solar, and storage assets. This role is crucial in supporting ENA's Grid Scale Renewables Project Development, Project Delivery, and Commercial Strategy cross-functional teams, working closely with managers, directors, and vice presidents within these teams. In this position, your daily responsibilities will focus on establishing and maintaining various budget control processes, conducting accounting forensic analysis, and resolving issues related to SAP and COUPA project management controls. You will also be responsible for routine CapEx budget reviews and reporting. The Senior Analyst will work independently with various corporate functional support groups, such as Accounting, Accounts Payable, IT, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Procurement, to implement ongoing business operation processes and resolve identified issues. Your role will involve assisting with the formation, establishment, and upkeep of SAP Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) projects/templates, ensuring the flow of information from SAP to grid scale renewables development and construction managers. You will analyze, assess, and report on Project Development/Construction CapEx and Operations/Maintenance OpEx spend data to ensure quality and accuracy. This includes executing forensic accounting tasks to identify outliers and collaborating with corporate Accounting/AP and Procurement to rectify errors. You will routinely produce, assess, and distribute monthly project status reports, update and modify budgets with managers, and address outliers as supplemental budgets are approved and contingencies are released. Additionally, you will assist development, construction, and project managers with the establishment of projects and full life cycle budgets in SAP, prepare annual cash spend plans, and conduct routine cash forecasting exercises. Identifying process gaps and opportunities for improving existing processes will be a key part of your role, as will proactively engaging with various corporate functions to roll out new or updated business processes and tools. You will also develop and maintain documentation and process flows to define various business processes and collaborate with Project Controllers on budget management, scheduling, and quality control initiatives to enhance these processes. Training and orientation efforts surrounding the use of legacy business systems/tools and the rollout of new enterprise systems will also be part of your responsibilities, along with coordinating these efforts with applicable corporate functional groups.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Systems, Economics, Engineering, Accounting/Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to investigating project-related risks/issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to diagnose and solve problems.
  • Experience using SAP and Coupa for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to work independently in a matrixed organization.
  • Desire to advance the adoption of renewable energy solutions.
