About the position

The Business Operations Specialist position at the New Mexico Department of Public Safety is responsible for providing business support to the Fleet Warehouse in Albuquerque. This role involves utilizing Fleet Management software to track the outfitting of police vehicles with emergency equipment and managing vehicle assignments to officers and civilian personnel. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Data entry into Chevin Fleet Management software.
  • Creating and processing work orders for outfitting new vehicles.
  • Processing Per Diem for travel.
  • Providing support to other Administrators and Technicians.
  • Requesting Purchase Orders and processing invoices for payments.
  • Coordinating with vendors by obtaining quotes and scheduling work.
  • Relaying documents and supplies between districts.
  • Maintaining warehouse inventory of parts and supplies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or Equivalency.
  • Two (2) years of experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, and/or contract management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Knowledge of the SHARE financial system.
  • Knowledge of Fleet Management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
