About the position

NetApp is seeking an experienced Business Operations Specialist to support its Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. This role involves developing and operationalizing priorities that align with the company's business objectives, ensuring compliance with ESG regulations, and coordinating stakeholder work streams to enhance reporting and disclosure processes. The specialist will report to the Chief Sustainability Officer and play a key role in improving NetApp's ESG performance, mitigating risks, and maximizing growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operationalize priorities aligned with NetApp's business objectives, collaborating with the Chief Sustainability Officer and cross-functional teams.
  • Run the program management office to synchronize stakeholder planning for compliance with ESG-related regulations.
  • Manage multiple stakeholder work streams to drive efficient reporting and disclosure processes, including sustainability reports and ESG performance metrics.
  • Facilitate engagements with investors, customers, and regulatory bodies on ESG matters, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
  • Lead governance for the portfolio of ESG initiatives, executing corporate goals across functions and managing external partnerships and programs.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to create actionable plans for improved systems and processes related to ESG initiatives.
  • Own employee communication and engagement strategies to foster a culture of sustainability and enhance talent attraction and retention.
  • Partner with analysts and investors to improve engagement and enhance NetApp's ESG profile.
  • Drive transformation by integrating ESG into business operations, ensuring accountability and measurement through ESG executive dashboards.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in business operations in the technology sector, preferably in program management and operationalizing ESG priorities.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESG regulations, frameworks, and reporting standards, including international regulations like CSRD.
  • Strong understanding of ESG risks, opportunities, and compliance requirements, with a proven track record of mitigating risks.
  • Experience in coordinating stakeholder workstreams and driving efficient reporting and disclosure processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong project and program management abilities, managing complex initiatives and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for sustainability and driving positive change.
  • Familiarity with ESG rating agencies and industry best practices for ESG performance.
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional executives and building executive-level presentations.
  • Ability to articulate business impact, risks, opportunities, and recommendations related to ESG.
