About the position

The Business Operations Project Manager I for the Aviation Division at the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is responsible for managing complex projects related to aviation operations. This role involves coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, and communicating with stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. The position requires a proactive approach to project management, with a focus on process improvement and collaboration with various state and federal entities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex project management work, coordinating planning and initiation of projects.
  • Monitor project progress and schedules, communicating with stakeholders and management.
  • Compile and distribute project information, status reports, and budget expenditures.
  • Coordinate project activities with state agencies, governmental jurisdictions, and private sector partners.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, work plans, and resource requirements.
  • Identify potential project impediments and design strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Prepare and monitor project scorecards, dashboards, and metrics.
  • Review and evaluate proposals and bids for management approval.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration.
  • 3 years of experience in project management, process engineering, or business process improvement methodologies.
  • Valid driver's license.
