About the position

The Business Paralegal position at Your Best Management Group is a full-time role that offers a competitive salary of $140,000. This position is integral to the operations of a successful property management group that collaborates with Bigelow Holding Companies, including Budget Suites of America. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of legal and administrative tasks that support the company's corporate and business functions. Key responsibilities include creating corporate entity documents and filing new and annual reports with the appropriate government agencies, such as the Nevada Secretary of State. The paralegal will also prepare licensing and permits for various state agencies and maintain a comprehensive database for all contracts and claims across multiple business entities. Additionally, the role may involve preparing and filing eviction complaints in Justice Court, responding to unemployment claims, performing discovery, responding to subpoenas, and assisting in document production. The paralegal will also provide assistance in contract preparation and management, ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure that all legal documentation is handled appropriately and in a timely manner. This role is essential for maintaining the legal integrity of the company's operations and supporting its growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Create corporate entity documents and file new and annual reports with appropriate government agencies, including the Nevada Secretary of State
  • Prepare licensing and permits for various state agencies
  • Prepare and maintain a database for all contracts and claims for multiple business entities
  • Prepare and file eviction complaints in Justice Court
  • Respond to unemployment claims
  • Perform discovery and respond to subpoenas
  • Assist in document production and any contracts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree or certificate program in paralegal studies is a big plus
  • 7+ years of corporate/business paralegal experience
  • Thorough knowledge of legal principles and practices
  • Experience with insurance/litigation defense, medical records summary experience, legal research and/or landlord-tenant law
  • Experience with corporate benefits, workers compensation and human resources issues such as 401K, I-9 reporting and Cobra coverage issues is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical abilities, and resourcefulness
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively and work well independently and in a team environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with corporate benefits and human resources issues
  • Knowledge of landlord-tenant law
