About the position

The Business Planning and Operations Manager role within the People Team at Visa USA Inc. is a pivotal position that focuses on enhancing operational performance and driving engagement across the organization. This role is designed for an individual who possesses a unique blend of operational excellence, analytical skills, and strong program management capabilities. The manager will be responsible for supporting various initiatives that aim to improve processes, facilitate financial planning, and manage headcount activities in collaboration with Finance and Workforce Planning teams. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying collaboration opportunities and creating impactful presentations for leadership. In this hybrid role, the manager will alternate between remote work and office presence, typically expected to be in the office 2-3 days a week, depending on business needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business operations or management consulting, with a proven track record of working effectively in dynamic and matrixed environments. The role demands excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as well as the ability to distill complex information into clear narratives for various stakeholders. The Business Planning and Operations Manager will also engage in special projects from inception to execution, ensuring clear communication of outcomes and responsibilities. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of People Team Business Planning and Operations and is based in Austin, TX. The successful candidate will be expected to navigate a fast-paced environment while maintaining a keen eye for detail and a commitment to operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Business Planning and Operations team with wide-ranging initiatives including process creation and improvement.
  • Coordinate Business and Objective and Key Results (OKR) reviews.
  • Facilitate financial planning and headcount management activities with Finance, Workforce Planning, and People Business Partners.
  • Identify, manage, and facilitate collaboration opportunities such as team calendars and community practices.
  • Create and collaborate on presentations for the team and leadership.
  • Support special projects from inception to execution with clear communication, outcomes, and responsibilities.
  • Research best practices and support team members in the research, design, and execution of internal consulting and program optimization projects.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD.
  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
  • 5-8 years professional experience, management consulting or business operations experience is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with experience researching and making recommendations for programs based on best practices, data, and analytics.
  • Project or program management experience with demonstrated ability to multi-task, collaborate with different stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and remain detail-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build credibility as a peer with partners.
  • Ability to distill complex information into a compelling narrative, in a variety of formats (e.g. presentations, talking points, executive summaries).
  • Advanced level of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
