About the position

The Business Process Analyst II - Wastewater position at the City of Fort Worth is crucial for the daily operations of the Wastewater Department's Field Operations Division, which operates 24/7. This role focuses on analyzing and validating data from various IT systems to optimize operations and support asset reliability. The analyst will serve as a technical liaison, coordinating with IT and other departments to improve business processes and ensure efficient utilization of software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, interpret and report data utilizing business intelligence software.
  • Create simple and complex reports and application dashboards to leverage system capabilities.
  • Generate and maintain basic/standard and complex reports using MS Office tools and SQL or other database products.
  • Perform data mining across multiple software systems (Maximo, GIS, SCADA) to validate data and improve business processes.
  • Conduct simple and complex data analysis to optimize current business processes.
  • Perform quality control and assurance of multiple data sets to ensure accuracy for reports to management and regulatory agencies.
  • Interpret department business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Consult with other departments and outside vendors to suggest improvements to current software programs.
  • Test and troubleshoot programs for reliability and provide end-user training on multiple software systems.
  • Serve as a technical and systems liaison to other departments and outside vendors.
  • Consult with the IT department to design and document basic workflows for proper application/user interface.
  • Provide training to end-users on new systems and troubleshoot related software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Four years of business experience and business analysis experience, including analyzing and interpreting data from multiple software programs.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Five years of increasingly responsible experience in water utility field construction, maintenance, repair, or operational activities.
  • Possession of a TCEQ Water Class C License.
  • Experience in reading and reviewing plans.
  • Proficiency in Business Process Mapping.
