About the position

The Business Process Analyst will support a complex Workforce Development program within the Department of Defense, specifically the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). This role involves gathering requirements, providing recommendations, and documenting processes to assist DTRA in implementing various human capital and workforce-shaping initiatives. The position requires a hybrid work model, with on-site work at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, two days a week and remote work for the remainder of the week.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze core business processes to identify gaps and recommend improvement areas.
  • Oversee change management and collection of requirements for project initiatives.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans and revise them to meet changing needs.
  • Provide process engineering technical support expertise to improve operations.
  • Analyze processes and re-engineer alternatives to address technical problems.
  • Create process changes by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicate these changes to stakeholders.
  • Develop recommended business and operational improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Facilitate quality improvement efforts using methodologies like Lean Six Sigma and CMMI.
  • Develop and implement solutions to complex problems.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience analyzing business and technical processes for a Government Agency or Federal Contractor.
  • Hold at least one of the following certifications: CAPM, PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or Black Belt.
  • Demonstrated active listening skills to understand key customer issues.
  • Expertise in creating business workflow processes and procedure documentation.
  • Experience with cloud-based and desktop MS Office products, including MS Project and MS Visio.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and phases.
