About the position

The Business Process Engineer will support the Technology Services - Planning, Governance & Innovation IT Business Management Team, focusing on federal clients in Washington, DC. The role involves leading the implementation of ITIL best practices, business process reengineering, and enhancing IT service management processes. The engineer will work closely with stakeholders to diagnose and improve business processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of ITIL best practices at the operational level.
  • Conduct business process reengineering for incident, problem, change, release, and configuration management.
  • Facilitate requirements discovery and management sessions with stakeholders.
  • Create lifecycle documents including Use Cases, Functional Requirements, and Business Process Models.
  • Support the development of Process KPIs to measure effectiveness and efficiency of processes.
  • Enhance Change Management and Request Fulfilment processes utilizing ITIL and Agile methodologies.
  • Provide training and create best practices documentation for users.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum Teams and manage work using Kanban methodology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least six years of related experience, or a Master's Degree with at least four years of related experience, or ten years of Analyst experience.
  • At least five years of experience in leading ITIL best practices implementation.
  • Experience in business process reengineering for ITSM processes.
  • ITIL 4 Foundations Certification preferred.
  • At least one year of experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Three years of experience leading requirements discovery and management.
  • Four years of experience with lifecycle documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • ITIL Certification preferred.
  • Experience with ServiceNow and Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Strong influence-management and negotiation skills.
