About the position

The Business Process Re-Engineering (BPR) Architect at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) will lead the establishment of a laboratory capability focused on business process re-engineering, particularly around ERP initiatives. This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to redesign and simplify business processes, driving improvements in productivity, quality, and employee satisfaction. The BPR Architect will serve as a change agent, fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment of a laboratory capability around business process re-engineering.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to understand current practices and define a standard approach for BPR.
  • Serve as a change agent to implement a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Define the ERP Program's process re-engineering strategy and conduct comprehensive analyses of existing business processes.
  • Document current workflows, dependencies, and pain points through process mapping techniques.
  • Collaborate with business transformation analysts to redesign processes and eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Work closely with Solutions Architecture to align on capabilities supporting process redesign efforts.
  • Support the ERP PMO and People Organizational Change Management team in communicating changes and garnering support for redesigned processes.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track improvements in productivity and quality.

Requirements

  • BS/BA and 11 years of relevant experience -OR- MS/MA or higher and 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading business process re-engineering in large, complex initiatives, especially ERP implementations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Experience in partnering with other disciplines like change management and user experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with reliability analytics or performance monitoring tools such as causal analysis, statistical analysis, and Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management approaches and tools.
  • Passionate about mentoring and developing staff.
