About the position

The Business Process Re-Engineering (BPR) Specialist at Unissant will support a federal health agency by enhancing administrative efficiencies through applied information technology. This role involves documenting business workflows, analyzing systems, and implementing strategies for process improvement, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Document requirements and business workflows, system architecture, technical requirements, and functional specifications.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs, producing clear proposals, documentation, and deliverables.
  • Develop test scripts and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Guides.
  • Write and/or review user stories based on process analysis and requirements collection.
  • Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to clarify the scope.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
  • Conduct business requirements collection to identify functional and non-functional needs and provide gap analysis.
  • Create and implement strategies for process improvement, considering both operational and technological solutions.
  • Work with dispersed, cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design new processes, and ensure successful implementation.
  • Use data analysis tools and techniques to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of process improvement initiatives and make necessary adjustments.
  • Offer training and guidance to team members and end users on new processes and best practices.
  • Provide system demonstrations to clients throughout the entire project life-cycle.
  • Conduct various agile ceremonies like product backlog refinement sessions with the product owner and implementation team.
  • Support implementation team during the sprint execution with any requirements support.
  • Support client User Acceptance Testing (UAT), provide client testers with functional support, review and validate issues, and work with the development team to address valid issues.
  • Facilitate benefit/risk analysis.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business process re-engineering or a similar role.
  • Experience with change management, SDLC, and agile methodologies.
  • Experience participating in and facilitating sprint ceremonies such as sprint planning, refinement, and daily scrums.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Elicitation and comprehension skills, with the ability to understand the bigger picture.
  • Critical thinking, strong analytical and investigation skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and comprehensive problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to learn, evolve, think and act strategically, creatively, and proactively.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting, taking ownership of and completing complex tasks with minimal guidance.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software and tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification or training in business process and/or change management methodologies and tools.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma.
