About the position

The Business Process & Solutions Engineering Analyst is a pivotal role within our organization, focusing on shaping the technology strategy and architecture to align with our business goals. This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with network design teams and various stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and executive leadership. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing robust, scalable, and secure technical solutions that meet both business and technical requirements. In this role, the analyst will routinely identify and communicate with key stakeholders to support business strategies, process improvements, and operational decisions. They will partner with business teams to analyze and document the existing architecture, functionality, and dependencies across UI, service, and data tiers. The ability to plan and design the structure of technology solutions is essential, as is the experience with IP network design concepts and best practices. The analyst will also evaluate, select, and suggest integration methods for appropriate hardware and software, producing maps, models, or functional design tools of proposed designs. They will work with the Technology Group to create functional designs for scalable and secure architecture solutions for various media-related applications, including content management, digital distribution, and analytics platforms. Additionally, the role involves developing technical documentation for existing and new architecture systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to data security and privacy. Staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the media and IT industry is crucial, as the analyst will communicate potential impacts and opportunities to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely identify and communicate with key stakeholders to support business strategies, process improvements and operational decisions.
  • Partner with business teams to analyze and document the existing architecture, functionality, and dependencies for UI, service, and data tiers.
  • Plan and design the structure of technology solutions.
  • Work with the design of the development of the company’s architecture and roadmap, ensuring alignment with the business strategy.
  • Identify necessary infrastructure and software requirements as well as media requirements.
  • Determine interdependence of overall network system components.
  • Identify gaps in current platforms and provide recommendations for future based on strategic goals.
  • Evaluate, select and suggest integration methods for the appropriate hardware and software.
  • Produce maps, models or functional design tools of proposed designs.
  • Collaborate with product/functional and engineering teams to define system requirements and provide recommendations for the integration of new technologies and frameworks.
  • Develop technical documentation for existing and new architecture systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to data security and privacy.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the media and IT industry; communicate the potential impacts and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years combination of education and experience in technology development and architecture, with a strong focus on the media and IT industry.
  • Minimum BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • SMPTE 2110 knowledge is required, along with broadcasting/media knowledge.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), microservices architecture, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Able to identify gaps in current platforms and provide recommendations for future based on strategic goals.
  • Prior history in evaluating and recommending new technologies and tools to improve performance, scalability, and reliability of systems.
  • Experience with various OS such as Windows, Linux and relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience working with organizational functions beyond the technical (hardware, software and systems engineering), including solutions development and business processing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a problem-solving mindset; critical thinking.
  • Strong documentation skills. Ability to gather, document and monitor requirements through an SDLC or Agile process.
  • Proven track record showing experience with design and implementation of large-scale, high-availability systems and architectures.
  • Expertise in data modeling, API design, and integration patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the Sports environment is a plus, but not required.
