About the position

Gould & Ratner LLP is seeking a highly experienced Partner to join its Business Reorganization and Creditors' Rights Practice. The role involves representing creditors, secured lenders, and asset purchasers in various financial transactions and legal matters, focusing on workouts, restructurings, and business reorganizations.

Responsibilities

• Represent lenders and creditors in bankruptcy cases, asset-based lending, foreclosures, and debtor-in-possession financing transactions.
• Handle Illinois commercial mortgage foreclosure, forbearance and receivership law, personal property foreclosure, and the Fraudulent Transfer Act.
• Engage in investor representation, financial sponsor transactions, exchange offers, debt for equity swaps, prepackaged and prearranged chapter 11 cases, and loan restructuring.
• Participate in bankruptcy litigation as needed.
• Serve as a business advisor to clients, guiding them through a full range of legal matters throughout their life cycle.

Requirements

• Significant experience in representing creditors and secured lenders in workouts and restructurings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Currently licensed in Illinois or eligible for comity, waiver, or willing to sit for the IL bar exam.
• Portable book of business required.
