About the position

The Business Research Team Assistant at AlixPartners plays a crucial role in supporting the Business Intelligence team and the Strategy and Business Development Group. This position focuses on managing and fulfilling data requirements, ensuring accurate data handling, and collaborating with various internal and external sources to deliver high-quality research and reports. The role demands exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Business Intelligence team and the Strategy and Business Development Group.
  • Manage and fulfill data requirements efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate data pulls, updates, and edits in line with business requirements.
  • Interface with internal and external sources to obtain new profiles, reports, and third-party research.
  • Utilize various data and research platforms, including Bloomberg and Capital IQ.
  • Collaborate with external research entities to ensure timely delivery and quality of research.
  • Organize and categorize storage of data and supporting files in designated repositories.
  • Update and refresh templates for internal and third-party use.
  • Maintain logs and databases reflecting current project status.
  • Gather, compile, and organize materials for weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Distribute and archive notes, findings, or decisions from meetings.
  • Engage in other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in administrative services, telecommunications, or business.
  • Prior experience in an administrative role or data management is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with file-keeping software or cloud storage is a plus.
  • Familiarity with basic financial concepts such as EBITDA and revenue is beneficial.
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to delivering accurate and high-quality work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a file clerk or in data management roles.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts and terminology.
