About the position

The Business Risk Lead (Marketing & Communications) is responsible for implementing risk management initiatives within the business unit, supporting the Enterprise Risk Framework. This role involves managing risk work, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and leading complex risk management projects. The position requires active participation in risk assessments, control testing, and the development of remediation plans, while promoting a culture of compliance and diversity within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Execute risk initiatives and manage employee assignments related to risk and control functions.
• Document key business processes accurately and completely.
• Identify and assess risks and internal controls associated with key processes.
• Participate in planning, execution, and reporting of the risk-based testing program.
• Perform control testing and ensure compliance with risk management standards.
• Review testing results and evaluate for issues, including independent scripted testing.
• Monitor business unit performance against key risk indicators (KRIs) and recommend enhancements.
• Complete Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) and other risk management reporting.
• Identify emerging risks and control structures needed to mitigate them.
• Guide the development and timely completion of remediation plans.
• Implement and oversee adherence to policies and procedures for the business unit.
• Provide informal coaching and input on staff performance and development.
• Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls as per company standards.
• Promote a diverse environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience.
