About the position

The Business Risk Professional Quantitative Analyst at U.S. Bank National Association is responsible for creating, validating, testing, documenting, and overseeing the usage of complex statistical models and quantitative methods. This role supports consumer finance products, particularly in auto loans and leases, and involves communicating advanced quantitative methods to stakeholders. The analyst will produce model development documentation, perform statistical analyses, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Create, validate, test, document, and oversee usage of complex statistical models and quantitative methods.
  • Support the department in consumer finance products such as auto loans and leases.
  • Document the creation and testing of advanced quantitative methods and communicate them to stakeholders.
  • Develop model development and validation documentation including presentations and written reports.
  • Aggregate and create data from different databases for statistical/econometric analysis.
  • Utilize credit risk data to perform analysis and modeling.
  • Develop code in SAS, Python, AWS, and Excel for data processing and analysis.
  • Produce work in accordance with internal and external regulations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management plus 2 years of experience as a Quantitative Modeling Analyst or related.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management plus 5 years of experience as a Quantitative Modeling Analyst or related in lieu of a Master's degree plus 2 years of experience.
  • 2 years of experience with a Master's or 5 years with a Bachelor's in applying quantitative methods to application approval scorecards, pricing, and loss forecasting.
  • Experience in performing validation and testing of models.
  • Experience in creating model development and validation documentation.
  • Experience in presenting results of modeling and data analysis to senior and executive management.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, Python) and data manipulation software (e.g., SQL).
  • Strong skills in Excel functions, formulas, and visualizations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with statistical modeling methods such as linear regression, logistic regression, and survival analysis.
  • Familiarity with Business Risk competencies and project management.
