About the position

The Business Solutions Lead at the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) is responsible for analyzing and capturing business requirements to support modernization projects. This role involves providing guidance on process improvements, collaborating with various stakeholders to design and implement enterprise solutions, and championing change management across the organization. The position requires a strong focus on enhancing service efficiency and user experience while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and capture business requirements for IMRF modernization projects.
  • Provide guidance on process improvements to enhance service and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with business, IS staff, and solution providers to design enterprise solutions.
  • Support the implementation of new applications while retaining current system strengths.
  • Champion enterprise-wide change management initiatives.
  • Assist in training, documentation, and testing of new functions.
  • Evaluate, design, develop, and implement business processes and solutions.
  • Advise staff on compliance with the Illinois Pension Code in various areas.
  • Promote cross-program alignment and integration of processes throughout IMRF.
  • Capture data elements required for process models and key success metrics.
  • Analyze and design data modeling processes, including validation and testing.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for colleagues' questions and issues.
  • Manage ongoing support for functional areas of the solution.
  • Submit support tickets to vendors and monitor their resolution.
  • Collaborate with project teams to design high-performing applications.
  • Prepare and execute test cases for User Acceptance Testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, IT, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in pension processes such as claims, account management, and wage reporting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with cross-functional teams in business process analysis and design.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in creating test plans and executing testing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Management, Business Administration, IT, or similar field.
