About the position

The Business Support Specialist II/III position at First National Bank Alaska is designed for individuals who enjoy problem-solving and continuous learning within the banking sector. This role is integral to the Compliance Team, focusing on Fair Lending & Quality Assurance. The specialist will compile and review information for management and regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations while identifying areas for improvement and additional training. The position offers opportunities for cross-training in various banking areas, enhancing skills in a high-value field.

Responsibilities

  • Administers various delegated assignments and responsibilities of limited risk and moderate complexity.
  • Coordinates allocated resources and manages risk.
  • Assists assignment owners in developing implementation plans and assembling teams.
  • Tracks and follows up on outstanding items to ensure objectives are met.
  • Performs workflow analysis to identify inefficiencies and recommends process changes.
  • Stays updated on federal and state regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Creates reports and presentations for management.
  • May supervise assigned delegates and carry out supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field and three years of progressively responsible business operations experience, or five years of relevant experience, or equivalent education/training.
  • For BSSIII: Bachelor's degree in a business-related field and four years of progressively responsible business operations experience, or six years of relevant experience, or equivalent education/training.
  • Advanced proficiency in word processing, database, and spreadsheet software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and manage time and resources effectively.
  • Experience using project management software is preferred.
