About the position

The Business Support Specialist II/III at First National Bank Alaska plays a crucial role in supporting the Compliance Team, particularly in the Fair Lending & Quality Assurance Section. This position involves managing various assignments and projects related to regulatory reporting and compliance, ensuring that the bank adheres to federal and state regulations. The specialist will engage in problem-solving, process improvement, and cross-training opportunities to enhance their skills in the banking sector.

Responsibilities

  • Administers various delegated assignments and responsibilities of limited to substantial risk and complexity.
  • Coordinates allocated resources and manages day-to-day activities.
  • Assists assignment owners in developing implementation plans and assembling teams.
  • Tracks and follows up on outstanding items to ensure objectives are met.
  • Performs workflow analysis to identify inefficiencies and recommends process changes.
  • Creates reports and presentations for management and may direct the work of others.
  • Stays abreast of pertinent federal and state regulations and ensures compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
  • Three years of progressively responsible business operations experience for BSSII; four years for BSSIII.
  • Experience in the banking or financial industry is preferred.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Advanced word processing, database, and spreadsheet software experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
