The Business Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the Arapahoe County Department of Human Services (ACDHS), specifically within the Child and Adult Protection Services (CAPS) Division. This position is designed to provide administrative support under limited supervision, ensuring that the department operates efficiently and effectively. The specialist will typically focus on one specific role, although duties may rotate based on the needs of the business. The overarching mission of ACDHS is to build strong communities by promoting the safety, independence, and stability of individuals and families, with a vision to end the cycle of poverty and prevent abuse and neglect of children and vulnerable adults. This is achieved through an integrated Two-Generation (2Gen) approach that addresses the needs of the entire family unit, focusing on high-quality services in areas such as early childhood education, adult education, economic security, health and well-being, and social capital. In this role, the Business Support Specialist will act as a liaison between the Administrative Support area and CAPS, as well as other Human Services departments. Responsibilities include collecting, reviewing, and analyzing complex and confidential data, preparing reports and presentation materials, and responding to inquiries from both internal and external sources. The specialist will also take the lead on special projects, participate in process improvements, and establish community connections and resources for CAPS. Additional duties include scheduling meetings, coordinating events, and managing office supplies and expenses. This position requires a high level of professionalism, communication skills, and the ability to make independent decisions while maintaining attention to detail.
