About the position

The Business Systems Analyst I or II position at the City of Lakeland involves providing expertise in various technologies related to the Customer Information System (CIS) and other internal data services. The role focuses on utilizing advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Machine Learning (ML) to enhance system functionality and user experience. The analyst will engage in project management, system testing, and communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure system integrity and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in comprehensive technical support across the entire lifecycle of Lakeland Electric's software applications and systems.
  • Lead project management efforts for implementing new software/systems and upgrades.
  • Conduct in-depth research, evaluation, and analysis of software usage and business processes.
  • Propose enhancements to boost responsiveness and reliability.
  • Create, modify, and automate database operations to maintain software integrity and report accuracy.
  • Coordinate and oversee database backups and server maintenance.
  • Conduct performance reviews of applications and recommend security procedures.
  • Facilitate testing, communication, and documentation updates for system integration.
  • Utilize File Transfer Protocol (FTP) software for seamless file movement.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and document system and software issues.
  • Evaluate and test patches for system functionality improvements.
  • Architect complex call-flows for the IVR system.
  • Leverage SQL expertise to query data for Public Records requests.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation for transparency and accountability.
  • Review data requests for feasibility from the Customer Information System (CIS).
  • Implement and manage data interfaces within the Technical Support department.
  • Conduct application and software customization, modification, and deployment.
  • Document and communicate necessary data fixes for software and servers.
  • Perform technical work activities including requirements gathering and data modeling.
  • Provide customer training and support for effective software utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Three years of impactful experience in report writing and real-time control systems.
  • Proficiency in advanced SQL writing.
  • Knowledge of project management and system testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in UX design.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Knowledge of Information Technology security best practices.
