About the position

The Business Systems Analyst I is a temporary position within the Department of Environmental Quality, focusing on the Stormwater Program. The role involves designing, analyzing, and implementing business processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency. The analyst will serve as an Access DEQ Implementation Coordinator, working on electronic reporting requirements and process improvements through automation. This position requires collaboration with project teams and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and training delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design, examine, analyze, develop, implement, administer, and monitor business and program processes and operation systems.
  • Serve as an Access DEQ (PTP) Implementation Coordinator.
  • Evaluate business and program application systems' functionality to identify gaps and propose solutions.
  • Develop and deliver training related to business and program systems solutions.
  • Support efforts to meet NPDES electronic reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the automation of processes and implementation coordination for new permitting processes.
  • Represent DEQ in a professional manner during internal and external communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline.
  • Two years of programmatic experience related to the area of assignment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of business systems, theories, processes, and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to analyze issues and propose solutions consistent with agency priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management and agile methodology.
  • Familiarity with Dynamics solutions for Stormwater programs.
