About the position

This is a hybrid role based in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the Business Systems Analyst II will be expected to work both in the office and remotely. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide advanced technical and operational support for business systems. The analyst will perform needs assessments to determine business requirements and implement functional specifications for assigned systems. It is crucial that the solutions developed align with the objectives of the bank, which will be supported through various reporting and analysis activities. The role may also involve elements of system testing or development, and the analyst may occasionally guide less experienced analysts within the work group. In this position, the analyst will engage in data analysis by sourcing, compiling, and interpreting data to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Effective communication of analysis output is essential. The analyst will also provide daily technical support for systems, responding to inquiries, ensuring smooth processes, and continuously working to improve the end-user experience. This includes assisting in the implementation of recommended modifications and enhancements. The analyst may serve as an analytics resource for the wider organization or specific business units. Identifying system requirements is another key responsibility, which involves communicating these requirements through specifications, reports, project plans, or other documentation forms. Compliance will be ensured through monitoring and analysis, and the analyst will create or update source-to-target mapping documentation based on system requirements. Additionally, the analyst will produce reports based on data analysis, user input, and system testing, identifying patterns, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Sources, compiles, and interprets data for analysis.
  • Analyzes data for accuracy and efficiencies, effectively communicating analysis output.
  • Provides daily technical support for systems by responding to inquiries and ensuring processes run smoothly.
  • Works to continuously improve the end-user experience and assists in implementing recommended modifications and enhancements.
  • Determines system requirements and communicates them through specifications, reports, project plans, or other documentation.
  • Ensures compliance through monitoring and analysis, creating or updating source to target mapping documentation based on system requirements.
  • Produces reports based on data analysis, user input, and system testing, identifying patterns, discrepancies, and areas of improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Systems Support, Analytics, or Operational Support OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Systems Support, Analytics, or Operational Support.
  • Knowledge of core banking platforms (deposits, loans, customer/MDM).
  • Ability to develop and interpret basic to moderately complex SQL statements in DB2 and Netezza.
  • Experience with SAS programming and data analysis (SAS 9.4, Enterprise Guide).
  • Experience using an enterprise job scheduling tool in a distributed environment.
  • Knowledge of building and interpreting dimensional database models.
  • Experience with DbVisualizer (or equivalent SQL query tool).
  • Experience analyzing, testing, documenting, and implementing projects of small to medium complexity.
  • Knowledge of System Life Cycle Development and Agile Methodologies.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
