About the position

The Business Systems Analyst II plays a crucial role in analyzing complex business problems and developing solutions to enhance processes and functionality. This position involves collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, designing system solutions, and providing end-user support for applications. The analyst will also engage in system testing and ensure that solutions meet business needs throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in designing, documenting, and evaluating information system solutions considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure, and performance.
  • Conduct requirements gathering sessions and review sessions with business stakeholders and technical development teams.
  • Translate business needs into high-level functional designs and technical requirements, documenting them as user stories or use cases.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the design and usability of current systems through analysis of requirements and workflows.
  • Provide low-fidelity mock-ups or wireframe designs of functional requirements.
  • Ensure functional and technical requirements are understood, approved, and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with system testing as needed and ensure solutions meet business needs through participation in demonstrations and functionality reviews.
  • Research and solve technical problems of moderate scope based on understanding of systems and functionality.
  • Engage vendors as needed, ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Assist the IT testing team with planning and coordination of user acceptance testing with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Moderate knowledge of the software development lifecycle and structured software development methodologies.
  • Advanced experience in Office 365 suite of products.
  • Experience working in a team environment with a strong initiative.
  • 3+ years' experience using SQL to query data from a database, with an understanding of types of joins and join criteria.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to lay audiences.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with minimal supervision.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Healthcare concepts and/or the Health Insurance industry.
