About the position

The Business Systems Analyst III at Zurich North America will play a crucial role in supporting the Direct Markets division, which is a leading provider of Property and Casualty (P&C) and Finance and Insurance (F&I) products and services for franchised dealerships and rental operations across the U.S. This position is based in the Overland, KS office and involves collaborating with various stakeholders to gather, elaborate, and document business requirements and user stories. The analyst will be responsible for analyzing and translating business needs into technical specifications, ensuring that these align with design and architectural decisions. In this role, the Business Systems Analyst III will be expected to create business process flows and IT/data flow artifacts. They will work closely with development and architecture teams to design robust and scalable systems that meet the outlined requirements. Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential to ensure a clear understanding of project progress and outcomes. The analyst will also assist the product owner with backlog prioritization and management, acting as a work-stream lead on components of the overall project, managing milestones, and driving project execution outcomes. Additionally, the analyst should be comfortable facilitating requirements sessions in a virtual setting using various collaboration and elicitation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, elaborate and document business requirements and user stories.
  • Analyze and translate business needs into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with Design / Architectural decisions.
  • Create business process flows and IT/data flow artifacts.
  • Work closely with development and architecture teams to design robust and scalable systems that meet the requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of project progress and outcomes.
  • Assist the product owner with backlog prioritization and management.
  • Act as work-stream lead on components of the overall project, managing milestones and driving project execution outcomes.
  • Facilitate requirements sessions in a virtual setting using virtual collaboration and elicitation tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Engineering and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area, OR a High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area.
  • Experience with use case development.
  • Experience with process modeling tools.
  • Experience in process reengineering; LEAN/Six Sigma experience.
  • Insurance application system design/analysis experience.
  • Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools/techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Experience modeling business processes using Vision or other business modeling toolsets, including Visio.
  • Experience using collaboration or facilitation tools such as Mural or MS Whiteboard.
  • Advanced Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) skills.
  • Relevant certifications in Business Analysis or related field are a plus.
  • Agile Certification - CSM, CPO etc. are a plus.
